Coop WG co-chair nomination period closes
Dear Coop WG members 1. The nomination period has now expired, and as far as we know, there have not been any nominations. 2. We didn’t have any new candidates standing for an election this time. 3. We have only been contacted by people not intending to be candidates but have previously considered the role. We would like to thank them for this feedback. 4. We suppose that WG silence is a sign that people are happy with Julf & Achilleas continuing, but would of course prefer a positive affirmation, so we encourage you to confirm your approval (louder than the silence) on the list. 5. You can also express your confirmation in the RIPE 83 Coop session, where the co-chair selection is a brief point in the Agenda. This can be also combined with the discussion of what could co-chairs and all the members do to get this WG to do good stuff. We also look forward to ourWG session, Tuesday Nov 23rd, at 16:00 -17:00 UTC+1. Desiree, Julf, Achilleas --

My view is that the current chairs are doing an excellent job, and I hereby give my non-silent support of Julf and Achilleas to continue. Best, Patrik Fältström

+1 However for next time, I hope the current co-chairs can work on somr sort of succession plan. At some point, one of our three excellent co-chairs will stand down => having a pool of willing volunteers who could be nominated.
Patrik, Jim Thanks for voicing your support for Julf and Achilleas. Jim makes an important point, that we all ought to work towards having a willing pool of volunteers for the next co-chair selection. And apologies for using the -e- word earlier in the announcement.

Thanks for openly voicing your support for Julf and Achilleas here. Having a willing pool of volunteers for the next co-chair selection is important. (apologies for the typo using the e word earlier). We look forward to working with members on creating this pool and encourage everyone in the community to step up or nominate someone they’d think would do a great job. Desiree --
Hi Jim,
However for next time, I hope the current co-chairs can work on somr sort of succession plan. At some point, one of our three excellent co-chairs will stand down => having a pool of willing volunteers who could be nominated. I hear you (having experienced, together with Achilleas, a rather sudden change of both co-chairs in one go). That is why we made sure we had Desiree fully on board before doing the current round of selections - and she has made a great contribution to the co-chair team, but yes, we need to make sure there is an influx of new blood and willing volunteers.

I could imagine trying to be one of these next time. All the best, -C.
