Dear Community,

The Internet Society together with the United Nations University are organizing a networking event to discuss the future of global Internet governance on 16 October in Brussels. This is a timely topic, as this year’s UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) will take place in Paris on 12-14 November.

Our goal is to gather the Brussels Internet governance community to discuss today’s critical Internet governance issues including cybersecurity, the digital divide and fundamental rights and the role of the global IGF.

We invite you to join us!

Kind regards,

The Internet Society, together with the United Nations University GREMLIN project, invite you to join us for an evening of networking in Brussels before this year’s Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Paris on 12-14 November.

Come meet others as you 'speed date' people from different communities and find out “what they are looking for in a relationship… with the UN IGF!” There is no day zero at the IGF this year so we are focused on starting the conversation in Brussels!

Our speakers include:

Olivier Bringer, Head of Unit, DG Connect, European Commission

Marie-Noemie Marques, International Regulatory Affairs, Orange

Diego Naranjo, Policy Advisor, European Digital Rights (EDRI)

The discussion is moderated by the Internet Society.

We also invite you to consider some of these questions to discuss at the event:

  • What role should the IGF play in the future governance of the Internet?
  • Should the IGF’s mandate be changed to focus on outputs? If so, how?
  • Is the IGF successfully implementing the multistakeholder model?

Drinks and canapes will be provided.

RSVP required via this page
