Hi Desiree, Colleagues

Here below you can find the RIPE NCC's comments / feedback to the ongoing consultation.

https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/14578-The-EU-Cybersecurity-Act/F33400812_en

In summary, we cover elements relevant to both the CSA2 and NIS2 simplification proposals, and recommend the EC to:
  1. Reduce the administrative burden, particularly under the NIS2 framework, for small and micro DNS service providers and small mid-cap enterprises;
  2. Provide clear rationale for the collection of IP ranges of entities subject to NIS2;
  3. Ensure a strong multistakeholder approach in maintaining the core technical functions of the Internet.
All best, Romain

Dear members and colleagues

I would like to draw your attention to the European Commission’s public consultation on the review of the Cybersecurity Act 2 and NIS 2 targeted amendments.

EU Cybersecurity Act Consultation

The consultation provides an opportunity for stakeholders to contribute views on the future development of the EU cybersecurity framework, including ENISA’s mandate, certification schemes, and broader cybersecurity policy objectives.

We encourage members interested in cybersecurity policy, internet infrastructure and related operational issues to consider submitting input.

Please note the submission deadline is approaching, and contributions should be submitted directly through the European Commission consultation portal.

Should there be interest, we can also facilitate an exchange among members on key issues relevant to the consultation or organise an open house.

Best regards

Achilleas, Julf and Desiree
