Sharing Stakeholder Submissions to the WSIS+20 Zero Draft

Dear WG colleagues We would like to share with you several stakeholder submissions to the WSIS+20 Zero Draft document. In particular, we would like to highlight those prepared by the technical community organisations RIPE NCC, APNIC, ISOC and ICANN, as well as the submissions from the Informal Multistakeholder Sounding Board (IMSB) and TCCM. We also encourage you to have a look at the Annex of the IMSB submission as it contains a calendar with of dates/opportunities to engage with the IMSB members. RIPE NCC Open House on updating ICP-2, Wednesday 17 September at 13:00 CEST

Dear colleagues, As you may know, the Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC) has published the second version of the draft updating the ICP-2 document. The new draft document titled "Governance Document for the Recognition, Operation, and Derecognition of Regional Internet Registries" can be found here: https://www.nro.net/policy/internet-coordination-policy-2/rir-governance-do… A new round of consultation is now starting and the RIPE Community is invited to share feedback on this document via the RIPE Discussion list until Friday, 7 November 2025. Call for applications for the selection of members of the informal commission Expert Group for a Technology Roadmap on Encryption

Dear colleagues Please note that the European Commission is setting up an informal "Expert Group for a Technology Roadmap on Encryption". The Commission is looking for technical profiles coming from either the public or private sectors with expertise in cyber security, encryption and decryption, crime investigation, forensics, telecoms, big data and AI, data protection, etc. This is an important one, as the group will advise the Commission on the implementation of current legislation but also in the preparation of new legislative and policy initiatives. Dear colleagues and friends, Like many of you, the RIPE NCC team is heading to the 2025 Internet Governance Forum (IGF) next week, which will take place in Lillestrøm, Norway, from June 23 to 27. This IGF is particularly significant, taking place ahead of the twenty-year review of the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS+20). Under the IGF’s theme of *Building Digital Governance Together, *the RIPE NCC is to take part in and support a wide range of sessions and workshops that reflect our commitment to open, resilient, and inclusive digital governance.
