This may sound odd, coming from me, but I say let him speak his mind until he feels that he has done so to the full. The proposal only came forth a mere few days ago, and there is no compelling reason to rush to judgement. Let everyone express themselves and their viewpoints until there is no more to be said that isn't unambiguously repetitive. You would hope for the same courtesy if and when you were esposing an unpopular or minority view.
Thank you for your comments, Ronald! To be clear, there's quite a bit of the Discussion Phase left to run and there will hopefully be plenty more discussion during that phase! As you're all aware, RIPE Policies are both important and far reaching. We, as a community, should never rush to judgement, either way and there have been many occasions when comments introduced late in policy discussion have had important effects on the final policies and decisions.
