No, definitely not too much, but considering your vast experience in combating spam, I would be surprised were you to deny the reputation I mentioned. That is really a side issue though. My point was that MAAWG and RIPE are dissimilar communities with dissimilar memberships. Whether those dissimilarities are minor enough for RIPE to refer to MAAWG documents instead of continue creating its own is a matter for consensus.
As for yahoo - or gmail or any of the other large free services out there, they can deter spammers from signing up. And they can spam filter their outbound email. But I seriously doubt they, or anybody else, is going to catch 100% of the spam. They just happen to have like several million users more than you do, so the volume of spam (as opposed to the percentage of spam) is higher.
