I like the idea. I would have preffered a cross registry/RIR solution but as you said, it has been many months (I actually raised the issue 2 RIPE meetings ago - in London) but nothing visible has been done to fix this problem.

I raised similar kind of issue in APNIC meeting as well. So lets see how it works out in RIPE :)
