As the Policy Working Group chair, he’s shown a strong dedication to the community's goals. He’s also been a major force in promoting the adoption of IPv6 in the Netherlands, not just by leading open discussions but by getting hands-on with IPv6 implementation and sharing his knowledge with ISPs, highlighted by his work on the RIPE 690 document. Besides his technical efforts, Sander has done a lot for the internet on a broader scale, especially through his volunteering with the Keep Ukraine Connected organization, helping keep the internet up and running in Ukraine during critical times. Moreover, Sander isn’t shy about offering constructive criticism when he sees things aren’t going as well as they could, which shows his commitment to excellence and improvement. On top of his professional achievements, Sander is genuinely a nice guy. He’s always open and respectful, committed to maintaining a culture where everyone feels welcome and valued. Given all this, nominating Sander for a Board position seems like a great move. His blend of technical expertise, proven leadership, and his knack for treating everyone with respect and not hesitating to provide valuable feedback will definitely be an asset to our team.
