From dialing into BBS systems in the early eighties to managing IP numbers and peering at scale at Elisa, Raymond has seen the Internet grow from hobbyist links to critical infrastructure, and he has grown with it. He has been active in RIPE since 2006, co-chaired the IPv6 Working Group, supported local NOG initiatives, and quietly done the unglamorous but essential work that keeps routing tables clean and address space in order. As Treasurer of the Executive Board, he brings the same operator mindset: pragmatic, careful, and focused on stability. In a world where everyone wants to announce more specifics, Raymond is the kind of person who still believes in good aggregation and long-term thinking, and that is exactly why I believe he deserves this nomination.
