Hi Marcin, There was extensive discussion about this at the RIPE66 meeting, where it was clear that there were both serious problems with the existing proposal (2012-04) and also a lack of consensus. As the proposal author, I'm currently thinking about what is the best way to deal with the problems. Input is welcome, either on this mailing list, or offline. Nick
Could you summarize the issues and challenges for the benefit of those not present at RIPE66? I consider this issue Rather Important and would love to give input if useful. Sent by mobile; excuse my brevity.

I plan on attending to RIPE66 on May 13th, 2013. After the conference I'd be happy to give you a executive summary. Must be some kind of time-zone thing that some of us already attended. ;-) - Job

Obviously, I view long term planning as very important. This is a Good thing. :-) Nick

We'll try to do that quickly after RIPE66 (which is going to take place in May 2013). Before that is going to be a bit of a challenge. In essence the questions raised at the RIPE*65* meeting last week are similar to what has been worded on the list before - fairness, distribution of the last remaining IPv4 address, money ("price per /24 or /22"). "Too controversial to go forward". The proposer (Nick Hilliard) took in all the feedback and will come up with a new version of the proposal that might reach consensus. "Too controversial to go forward".
It is a "yes" or "no" question, afaik :) Cheers, Jan
Hello Marcin,
I'am lost a little bit, what is the current status of policy, that would allow single /24 PI IPv4 assignment from the last /8 ???
You can find the status here: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/policies/proposals/2012-04 The policy proposal is in the review phase and under discussion until the 8th of October. Sander Steffann APWG co-chair
I can't inline my replies on Android, sorry. The official status page is of limited use in this context, but the official date/timeline _is_ good to be reminded of; thanks. PS: I didn't attend and simply stole the 66 from Nick ;) Sent by mobile; excuse my brevity.
