It would be helpful if RIPE NCC staff could provide statistics showing the number and size distribution of PI assignments over the last five years. It would also be good to know how much of the address space currently set aside for PI assignments remains available.

The RIPE NCC does not set aside address space for PI assignments larger than the current minimum allocation size, a /21, because these assignments can be made from any of our IANA allocations. We do mark some free blocks with a minimum allocation size of less than a /21 as usable for smaller PI assignments. This list is periodically reviewed and currently contains a bit over a /11 of address space. If you have any questions about these numbers, please do not hesitate to ask.
