So - permit the question: why should a LIR bother explaining their 6rd deployment plans (and I'm sure that the IPRAs would ask some questions) *and* pay more, just to get a bit larger huge amount of numbers...?
You should disclose your 6RD plans to pay less. RIPE issues a revised charging plan every year. See here for the 2010 plan <http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/charging2010.html> The billing category is calculated according to an algorithm which is part of the charging plan. It is not that difficult to adjust the algorithm to not count 6RD allocations since they are a proxy for the IPv4 allocations that are already being scored. It is premature to claim that fees would be higher if you get a large allocation for 6RD. --Michael Dillon
