If there was a magical wand that we could wave to make every ISP switch on IPv6 the problems with IPv4 pricing etc., would vanish. Unfortunately it doesn’t exist. Pushing IPv6 adoption is commendable, but we have to be realistic. IPv4 won’t vanish anytime soon. -- Mr Michele Neylon Blacknight Solutions Hosting, Colocation & Domains http://www.blacknight.host/ http://blog.blacknight.com/ http://www.blacknight.press - get our latest news & media coverage http://www.technology.ie Intl. +353 (0) 59 9183072 Direct Dial: +353 (0)59 9183090 Social: http://mneylon.social Random Stuff: http://www.michele.irish/ ------------------------------- Blacknight Internet Solutions Ltd, Unit 12A,Barrowside Business Park,Sleaty Road,Graiguecullen,Carlow,Ireland Company No.: 370845 On 08/05/2015 12:54, "Sebastian Wiesinger" <sebastian@karotte.org> wrote:

See, we can not win this games. Let’s stop wasting energy and resources on dealing with legacy IP and how to make it work for a bit longer. New entrants are entering are market that is not fair, and we can not make a real difference. The only way forward is to push IPv6 and restore a healthy climate regarding the availability of IP addresses.
Dan,
if you don't want to invest your time trying to make this market more fair by all means go ahead and do something else. There are still people here who would like to try so that new players can enter a market that will be dominated by IPv4 for some time to come.
Most people here are pushing IPv6 but as much as you want to bury IPv4 it will still be around for some time.
