This is widely used for IRC servers that are prime DDoS targets, either as "anycast" or something that might be called "limitcast", ie a prefix that is only reachable by part of the internet to limit the amount of DDoS drones that can actually send traffic to the prefix in question. -- Mikael Abrahamsson email: swmike@swm.pp.se
