I think the intersection between the group that doesn't use EDNS0 and the group that supports IPv6 is negligible. And it any event, dropping IPv6 glue addresses from the response is hardly deadly. I can understand why the root people are somewhat concerned about the boot strapping thing, but for TLDs this isn't an issue.
