If not, "whois -h whois.iana.org de" and you'll understand the difference with Google (the last change we requested from IANA, adding a new name server, ns3.domain-registry.nl, for ".re" is now three weeks old and still not performed... DENIC has similar experience.).
That's an operational problem, not a technical one. If IANA/ICANN isn't working, give them a good beating, but please don't break policy to cover for human deficiencies.
