Hmm as I remember there was no rejection of the idea, more a
cancellation of the started work due to the implication and
complication involved in getting done.

it was rejected mostly because it would have caused a lot of changes and it was too complex.

I still have the idea to come back and do it with a step-by-step approach but I haven't yet managed to decide what would be the first step :-)
